SCOTTSDALE, AZ (February 6, 2023) — In partnership with the Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP), USA Pickleball kicks off its 2023 National Championship Series (NCS) February 8-12 at Pictona at Holly Hill in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Pros and amateurs across all ages and skill levels will compete in 116 different event brackets throughout the week.
“We are thrilled to be kicking off the 2023 USA Pickleball National Championship Series at the beautiful Pictona facility. Our recent Diamond Amateur Championship there was a testament to the facility’s ability to deliver an incredible pickleball experience,” said Stu Upson, USA Pickleball CEO. “The USA Pickleball team is looking forward to working closely with the APP in this National Championship Series, and we couldn’t be more excited to start off strong at Daytona.”
The 2023 NCS comprises five tournaments held across the country that serve as primary qualifiers for the sport’s premier event, the USA Pickleball National Championships. Amateur pickleball players compete to earn a Golden Ticket, automatic entry for Nationals, by finishing first in their age and skill division(s). Following Daytona, the series will then move to Mesa, Arizona from March 29 – April 2.
Live coverage of professional competition from the APP Daytona Beach Open will air on ESPN+ on Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12. Additionally, a one-hour Championship Sunday recap special will air at 8 pm ET on ESPN2.
“Pictona at Holly Hill promises to immediately establish itself as one of the premier pickleball venues for APP and USA Pickleball events, and we’re excited to kick off what will be five days of world-class pickleball competition in Florida,” said Tom Webb, APP Chief Marketing Officer.
