The stage is set for the APP’s largest tournament draw of 2023 so far – the APP Mesa Open. Five days of world-class pickleball action awaits from the stunning Bell Bank Park in Mesa, AZ, starting Wednesday March 29.

With more than 1,300 registrants, the 2023 APP Mesa Open will host nearly four times the number of players from the 2022 tournament, which was held in December, 2022. Amateurs, pros, senior pros, and super senior pros will participate in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competition throughout the week.

The 2023 APP Mesa Open will be streamed live on APPTV – available on the APP Tour YouTube and Facebook pages – on Saturday, Apr. 1 from 1 pm MST and Sunday, Apr. 2, from 10 am MST, and a one-hour Championship Sunday recap special will air on CBS Sports Network on Monday, Apr. 3 at 9 pm ET.

Spectator tickets for the event are available at just $20 with access to Championship Court via Tixr.com. Walk-up tickets for single-day sessions will also be available for purchase at the venue with doors opening at 8 am MST each day.

Among the top pros participating are Parris Todd, Hunter and Yates Johnson, Shelby Bates, Megan Fudge and Ryler DeHeart, Simone Jardim, Andrei Daescu, Kyle Yates, Bobbi Oshiro, and Brendon Long.

Parris Todd has been nothing short of dominant in 2023. She took home two golds (women’s singles, women’s doubles) and a silver (mixed doubles) at the 2023 APP Daytona Beach Open, bringing her gold medal count to five for the season. At the season-opening 2023 APP Sunmed Punta Gorda Open, she became only the second woman in APP history to earn a Triple Crown with three gold medals.

Hunter Johnson and Yates Johnson continued their hot starts to 2023 in Daytona Beach. Hunter took home his second-straight men’s pro singles gold – defeating identical twin brother Yates in the final. The brothers teamed up to earn silver in men’s pro doubles, and Hunter earned another silver alongside Parris Todd in mixed pro doubles.

Jardim, the GOAT of women’s pickleball, took home her second-straight women’s pro doubles gold alongside Parris Todd and a bronze in mixed pro doubles at the APP Daytona Beach Open.

At the same event, Daescu and Yates brought home their second-straight men’s pro doubles gold medals, defeating the Johnson twins in the final. Daescu also earned bronze in mixed pro doubles alongside Simone Jardim.

Among the players to watch in Mesa are Bobbi Oshiro and Brendon Long who teamed up and upset the top-seeded Hunter Johnson and Parris Todd, winning their first gold medals of the season in Daytona Beach. The win marked Long’s first-ever professional gold medal.
