In the Atlanta Slam Final: Johnson beat Garnett (11-2, 8-11, 11-9). Garnett led 7-0 in Game Three at Atlanta before Johnson came storming back to win 11-9.)

Federico Staksrud:

Preseason #2, Currently #1.

2024: Eight golds, nine silver, three bronze. Only two tournaments without medals. 

Tyson McGuffin:

Preseason #3, Currently #7

2024: One silver, One bronze (both in August). Oldest player in singles @ 35.

ANNA LEIGH WATERS:

Preseason #1, Currently #1. 

2024: 11 titles. Her only defeat was to Salome Devidze in a Dallas semifinal in June.

Waters is 43-3 all-time in singles finals, and 32-0 in Finals since losing to Todd in June of 2022 in Orange County.

PARRIS TODD:

Preseason not in the top 20, Currently #8.

2024:Three silvers, two bronze. Her signature moment was a title here in 2022 vs. Anna Leigh Waters.

Bronze: 

Kaitlyn Christian: 

Preseason not in the top 20, Currently #7.  

2024: Three silvers, three bronze, all before September.

Mary Brascia:

Preseason #5, Currently #9. 

2024: One title (Red Rock Open) and two silvers (both in Feb.)

ANNA LEIGH WATERS and BEN JOHNS

Both Preseason #1 and Currently #1.

2024: 15-1 in finals (only loss was to Bright/Daescu in Austin)

Together, they have a 42-1 career record in Finals.

 (Waters, 44 overall titles; Johns, 57 overall titles)

CATHERINE PARENTEAU and CHRISTIAN ALSHON

Catherine was Preseason #5, and currently #5.

Christian was Preseason #17, and Currently #3.

Together in 2024: Silver at the Orange County Cup in June, and a silver at the Atlanta Slam.

Jorja Johnson and JW Johnson:

Jorja was Preseason #3, and Currently #3.

JW was Preseason #4, and Currently #2.

Together in 2024: Four silvers this year, all vs ALW & Ben, but they pushed them to five games in Kansas City. Their only title together was at Newport Beach in 2023.

Anna Bright and Gabe Tardio:

Anna was Preseason #2, and Currently #2.

Anna in 2024: two golds (Austin and Milwaukee), 8 silvers, one bronze.

Gabe was Preseason not in the top 20, and Currently #9.

Gabe in 2024: Gold at Utah and silver in Milwaukee, both with Jessie Irvine.

JW JOHNSON and GABE TARDIO:

JW was Preseason #3, Currently #4.

JW in 2024: Five gold, three silver, three bronze, all with Dylan Frazier.

Gabe was Preseason not in the top 20, Currently #10.

Game in 2024: Four titles in nine tourneys since August, and also two silver.

This team knocked out the top-seeded Johns brothers Friday night, 11-5, 11-6.

HAYDEN PATRIQUIN and FEDERICO STAKSRUD:

Hayden was Preseason not in the top 20, Currently #8.

Hayden in 2004: Three golds, one silver, two bronze.

Federico was Preseason #7, Currently #5.

Fed in 2024: Four titles (all since June), two silvers, five bronze.

  • Patriquin and Staksrud won the Sacramento Open in June. The final against Frazier & Johnson was played at a high level: Staksrud and Patriquin had -no- dinking errors and they dominated when they initiated speed-ups. 
  • Patriquin and Staksrud won the Virginia Beach Cup, beating Johns/Johns in five games in the finals.

Bronze: 

Andrei Daescu and Tyson McGuffin:

Andrei was Preseason not in the top 20, Currently #12.

Andrei in 2024: Three golds: Austin, then Utah and Vegas back-to-back.

Tyson was Preseason #10, Currently #9.

Tyson in 2024: Three silvers and four bronze. His last title was a Triple Crown in 2023.

Christian Alshon and Dekel Bar:

Christian was Preseason #20, Currently #13.

Christian in 2024: Two golds (Indoors and Bristol), one silver, two bronze.

Dekel was Preseason #16, Currently #6.

Dekel in 2024: Four silvers, five bronze.

CATHERINE PARENTEAU and ANNA LEIGH WATERS:

Catherine was Preseason #2, Currently #2.

Anna Leigh was Preseason #1, Currently #1.

Together in 2024: 13 titles. Five of those titles, and their three silvers, were all against Bright and Rohrabacher. (24 career titles together)

ANNA BRIGHT and RACHEL ROHRABACHER:

Anna was Preseason #3, Currently #3.

Rachel was Preseason not in the top 20, Currently #4.

Together in 2024: Eight titles, five silvers, one bronze. Their five silvers were all in finals against CP/ALW.

Jorja Johnson and Lacy Schneemann:

Jorja was Preseason #17, Currently #9.

Lacy was Preseason #15, Currently #13.

This team beat Parenteau and Waters in Pool Play, the only team other than Bright/Rohrabacher to beat the top seeds this year.

Jessie Irvine and Mari Humberg:

Jessie was Preseason #10, Currently #20.

Jessie has one silver medal this year (Orange County, Pisnik) and five career titles.

Mari was Preseason not in the top 20, Currently #19.

Mari in 2024: one silver (Utah with Jorja J), and three bronze.
