PPA 2024 Action Kicks-Off on Jan. 9

In 2024, the PPA Tour will make 26 stops, hit a number of new destinations, and work alongside Major League Pickleball, all of which will make 2024 the biggest year of professional pickleball.

New stops in Bristol, Tenn., (Aug. 15-18), Virginia Beach, Va., (March 20-24) and Sacramento, Calif., (June 6-9), highlight some of the cities the PPA Tour will visit for the first time..

The season starts Jan. 9 in Mission Hills, Calif., and ends in San Clemente, Calif., on Dec. 5.

“We strive to provide an extraordinary experience for the players, fans, team members, and venues at each PPA Tour stop,” said PPA Tour Vice President, Brian Clark, who oversees logistics operations and helps the tour plan and execute tournaments.

And similar to 2023 when the PPA and MLP shared venues on three occasions, there will be more of that in 2024.

“2024 provides additional opportunities to be even more successful,” Clark said. “With PPA and MLP sharing similar goals in providing players, fans, and venue members with extraordinary experiences, aligning on specific tactics and strategies in delivering those experiences depends on the communication between the two. I anticipate both teams working together to deliver those goals even more so in 2024.”

There will be three tiers of tournaments in 2024, starting with one of the most prestigious at the Hyundai Masters on Jan. 9. It’s a 2,000-point tournament, making it one of the four “Slams” on tour this year. The other three Slams set for 2024 are Atlanta (May 14-19), Cincinnati (Sept. 11-15), and Dallas (Nov. 5-10). The other tiers are called Cups (1,500-points), of which there are 6, and Opens (1,000-points), of which there are 15. The year wraps up with the last event, the PPA Finals, which is only playable by pros who qualify based on their ranking.

“The PPA Tour has always been driven by the desire to provide better events and better experiences for all involved,” Clark said. “I have witnessed those year-after-year improvements and am confident the PPA will continue to get better with every event that it holds.”
