End of an era.

The Dink broke the news on Instagram and X that the winningest men’s doubles duo of all time has called it quits. Well, at least for now.

Ben has reportedly reached out to Gabe Tardio and inquired whether the right sider would be interested in partnering for 2025.

Watch this video via Instagram or the video below via Twitter to find out everything we know.

Neither Ben nor Collin have publicly confirmed the news as of 5pm ET on Dec 19.

But it did not go unnoticed that Gabe Tardio liked The Dink’s post about the rumor on Instagram, seemingly confirming it.

As of now, the Jons Brothers are still listed as partners for the first PPA Tour event of 2025, the PPA Masters.

The Legacy of Ben Johns and Collin Johns as Doubles Partners

Historical Dominance

The Johns brothers have achieved remarkable success as a doubles team:

  • They have won 33 titles together.
  • In 2023, they set an incredibly high standard that would be difficult for anyone to match.
  • Ben Johns has 123 PPA titles overall, while Collin has 31, making them the top two male players in terms of titles.
  • From 2021-2023, Ben Johns dominated the men’s doubles scene, primarily playing with Collin.

Recent Performance

However, their dominance has been challenged in 2024:

  • As of July 2024, they had not won a men’s doubles final in five months, their longest drought as partners.
  • Their recent finishes include 4th, 4th, 4th, and 5th place in tournaments.
  • Ben Johns’ win percentage in men’s doubles dropped from 90% in 2021 to 80% in 2024.
