USA Pickleball staff hosted USA Pickleball Serves clinic for over 70 local youth at Scottsdale / Paradise Valley Family YMCA

USA Pickleball, the National Governing Body for the sport of pickleball in the U.S., hosted an introductory USA Pickleball Serves clinic for over 70 local youth today at the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley Family YMCA in Arizona.

YMCA youth between ages 5 to 12 received a one-hour introductory pickleball session led by USA Pickleball staff to learn fundamentals of the game and try their hand at the fastest growing sport in America.

Youth rotated through a series of drills that helped to facilitate the development of specific pickleball skills which focused on improving ball and paddle coordination.

“USA Pickleball Serves is an important part of growing the sport across all communities,” said Mike Nealy, Chief Executive Officer of USA Pickleball. “By providing our USA Pickleball staff opportunities to work with local youth, we’re creating connectivity to a lifelong sport where youth can continue to play with family and friends.”

The YMCA also received a donation of Franklin pickleball equipment including paddles and balls to encourage continued engagement with the game.

USA Pickleball Serves mission is to promote the development of growth of pickleball in the United States and its territories. This is one of several initiatives to further develop under resourced communities and provide youth further exposure to the sport of pickleball.
