#1 FEDERICO STAKSRUD and GABE TARDIO:
- Beat last week’s World Championships gold medalists, Hayden Patriquin and Riley Newman, 11-7 and 11-0 in the quarterfinals.
- This team won the Kansas City Open in August.
- Both players have three gold medals together. Staksrud’s other two are with Hayden Patriquin; Tardio’s other two are with Andrei Daescu.
#7 JAMES IGNATOWICH and CJ KLINGER:
- Klinger reached the semis last week with Quang Duong.
- Klinger is looking for his first PPA title.
- Ignatowich won a silver medal with Matt Wright at the Utah Open in August.
- Ignatowich has a gold medal from 2023, with Tyson McGuffin.
Bronze:
#4 Andrei Daescu and Pablo Tellez:
- Daescu has three gold medals this year; two with Gabe Tardio, one with Matt Wright.
- Tellez has three silver medals this year, most recently with Dekel Bat last week at the World Championships.
#11 Blaine Hovenier and Julian Arnold:
- Hovenier is looking for his first PPA medal.
- Arnold won silver and bronze medals in 2023, both with Thomas Wilson.
=== WOMEN’S DOUBLES ===
#1 ANNA BRIGHT and RACHEL ROHRABACHER:
- In 12 finals this year, they are 3-5 against Parenteau and Waters, and 4-0 against other teams.
- They beat Parenteau and Waters in four games for the Austin Open title in March; in four games again at the Atlanta Slam in September, and in three games at the Worlds in November.
- Parenteau and Waters have lost only 14 games in finals together. Bright and Rohrabacher are responsible for nine of those 14.
#5 JACKIE KAWAMOTO and JADE KAWAMOTO:
- Jade has two silver medals this year (Atlanta and Kansas City)
- Jackie has a silver in Houston and a bronze in Atlanta this year.
- They -have- medaled together before: A silver in Cincinnati in 2023 and a bronze at the Baird in Ohio in 2022.
Bronze:
#4 Hurricane Tyra Black and Allyce Jones:
- They won bronze medals at the World Championships last week after losing to Anna Bright and Rachel Rohrabacher in the semis. That same team beat them again yesterday.
- They also won a bronze medal together at the Red Rock Open in April.
#7 Maggie Brascia and Mary Brascia:
- Their best result together was a silver medal (Parenteau and Waters) at the 2023 National Championships (a non-PPA event)
- Neither player has a PPA Doubles medal.
- Mary has a gold and two silvers in Singles this year.
